In 2019, an estimated 10.1 million people aged 12 or older misused opioids in the previous year. A crisis of this size combined with a global pandemic where people are losing their jobs, struggling to make ends meet & praying to not become sick to the point of incapacitation means more children entering the system and trying to understand why.


Released on March 1, 2021, My Parents Have a Drug Problem and A Guide to Talking to Children About Drug Addiction were written as children’s books to be relatable to younger children who can’t yet understand the effects addiction has on their lives. We need to start having conversations with children about drug abuse and drug addiction. We aren’t having the conversations because children aren’t asking the questions, and children aren’t asking the questions because this is normal to them.
